Message from the President

Dear Friend,

Greetings!

I welcome you to another dynamic year with the Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA). COMPA is committed to continued efforts of strengthening the field of public administration and public service locally and globally. COMPA will continue to nurture, support, empower public administrators of color; and explore ways of improving the field of public service through professional development and training. I believe “that public service values are essential to civic engagement and a good society, and that good government is essential to sustainable economic development, social justice and environmental protection.”

I look forward to working with our local COMPA chapter leadership and members of the National COMPA leadership team to further of our goals of increasing membership and enhancing our organization. Make plans now to attend our 2009 COMPA Conference in Las Vegas, NV, February 8 – 11, 2009 at the Desert Rose Resort. Our 2009 COMPA Conference theme is “Building & Bridging Communities”. Together COMPA can make a difference in the overall quality of service in public administration.

Respectfully submitted,

Deborah LeBlanc
