Welcome to Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA) website!
Dear COMPA Members, Participants, Supporters, and Guests:
It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to the 39th Annual National COMPA Conference. Our theme, "Embracing Change: Resolving Challenges," is reflective of the atmosphere of this time in history. It is an exciting time as we continue to foster the mission, goals, and objectives advanced by COMPA.
The goals are to: provide leadership in the elimination of discriminatory practices in the public sector; promote recruitment of minorities for leadership positions at all levels of government; provide a forum to promote, upgrade, and refine skills of minority administrators; and develop and maintain a roster of skilled minority professionals in public administration. COMPA continues to support its goals through providing service to, and opportunities for outreach, inclusiveness, training, networking, and professional development. Importantly, COMPA has served as a vehicle which has propelled the careers of many aspiring professionals to successfully obtain leadership positions in academia and public service.
We want to continue to build on the legacy and tradition of COMPA as we advance the field of public administration, affairs, public policy, and we look forward to your contributions and participation in this endeavor.
We look forward to your attendance at the 2010 COMPA Conference in Jackson, Mississippi—The Cross Roads of The South.
Sincerely,
L. Frances P. Liddell
