Welcome to the Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA) Official Website
Dear Colleagues and Friends:
It is a great honor for me to serve as your President for 2010-2011 (until ASPA 2011). COMPA has been and continues to be an organization where professional public administration relationships prosper and grow, where students studying public administration can network with both practitioners and professors, where societal issues and developments affecting the quality of life can be discussed and thought out, and where new ideas, research, and programs can be presented and articulated at the Annual Conference.
My goal for the next year is a modest one!! To continue with the thrusts above while at the same time moving COMPA ahead as a premiere public service and public administration organization. Specifically, there are three areas I would like to focus on during my tenure as President. First, to attract more attendees and participants at our 2011 Annual Conference upcoming (February 19-24, 2011) in Fort Worth, Texas. Second, broaden COMPA’s relationships with the public administration practitioner world especially at the state and local government levels. Third, increase and expand COMPA’s relationships with college and university public administration programs and students throughout the country.
I will need your help with these three areas. After all, it is these areas that have given COMPA its outstanding history and it is these areas that will be COMPA’s future.
I look forward to serving you as President. Please feel free to share your ideas and thoughts
with me.
TO COMPA ‘S SUCCESS!!!
Mitchell F. Rice, Ph. D.
President
