Call for Student Papers

ARE YOU A CURRENT MPA OR DOCTORAL DO YOU HAVE A RESEARCH PAPER YOU ARE WORKING ON? WOULD YOU LIKE TO PRESENT YOUR RESEARCH AT A NATIONAL PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION CONFERENCE?
HERE IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY!
COMPA'S NATIONAL CONFERENCE INCLUDES THE UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT STUDENT RESEARCH PAPERS AT THE 2012 NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN MCALLEN, TEXAS FEBRUARY 22 - 26, 2012.
 
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be a current MPA or Doctoral Student ONLY.
  2. Papers must be unpublished.
  3. Papers must be single-author only.
  4. The topic of the paper may be any subject in the field of public administration or public policy.
  5. Paper maximum: 25 pages, including tables and figures, double-spaced.
  6. Shorter papers will be considered.

PROCESS:

  1. Submit an electronic abstract of no more than 100 words to Abraham Benavides at benavides@unt.edu, 940-565-3264 or Aziza Zemrani, 956-292-7845
  2. Abstract deadline:  Friday, September 30, 2011.
  3. Students will be notified if their abstract has been accepted Friday, October 14, 2011.
  4. If accepted, the COMPLETED PAPER must be submitted electronically by Friday,  December 16, 2011.
  5. If a paper is accepted, authors are required to prepare a 10 -12 minute presentation of their research for a panel at the conference.
  6. Date and time of panels to be announced.
  7. Student presentations will be critiqued by members of the Student Research Track committee, and other COMPA members.
  8. Student names and paper titles will be printed in the COMPA conference booklet.
  9. In order to present, students must register for the conference.

Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track Position) in City Management/Public Finance - The faculty member will teach across undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. programs as needed in the area of city management, public finance/budgeting, and general public administration; generation of a robust and productive research agenda appropriately supported by external funding; service to the college and university; and service to the greater Cleveland community as appropriate.
 
Minimum Qualifications:  Ph.D. in public administration, public finance, political science, public policy, or economics or related field.
